Shape the Future of MWR: 2026 Annual MWR Active Duty Survey Launches Sept. 14

WASHINGTON - Active-duty Sailors will have the opportunity to provide feedback that will help inform future improvements to quality-of-life programs when the 2026 Annual Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Active Duty Survey officially opens on September 14, 2026.

The official Navy MWR annual survey is designed to gather direct, actionable feedback from active-duty Sailors across the enterprise. Input collected through the survey will provide critical feedback directly to MWR leadership, playing an essential role in guiding future decisions on recreation offerings, fitness facilities, entertainment and shore support services.

"Every single Sailor’s voice matters," said Lisa Sexauer, Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) MWR Director. "Our core mission is to support our service members and their families. The most effective way to ensure our programs meet the evolving needs of the fleet is by listening directly to the Sailors who use these services every day. Your input provides the foundation for everything we do."

MWR has prioritized fleet feedback in recent years, receiving over 2,000 survey responses during the 2025 campaign. That data helped inform program resourcing decisions and measure MWR’s impact on readiness and retention and its relevance to the Navy. Sailors also have the opportunity to prioritize MWR programs and influence areas of focus in the coming year, including installation operating hours, equipment modernization and community events across installations around the world.

For 2026, leadership aims to build on that momentum and expand Sailor representation across all ranks, rates, and duty stations. "Receiving 2,080 responses in 2025 provided invaluable insights, but we want to hear from even more Sailors this year to guide our path forward," Sexauer noted. "Taking a few minutes to share your perspective directly shapes the future of MWR for you and your shipmates."
