WASHINGTON – Leisure travel remained a top priority for the U.S. military community in 2025, and American Forces Travel (AFT) was there to meet the demand. AFT is the Department of War’s (DoW) official online Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) travel platform, serving active duty, Guard and Reserve, retirees, DoW civilians and other eligible MWR patrons. Through exclusive discounts on flights, hotels, rental cars and vacation packages, AFT delivers meaningful savings to the military community.

Throughout 2025, AFT offered a variety of promotions, including coupon discounts, event and concert tickets, cruise giveaways and travel tips. As part of MWR’s program portfolio, AFT complements installation-level Tickets and Travel offices by providing a convenient online option for booking travel while continuing to support programs that enhance quality of life across the fleet. As one Navy MWR Tickets and Travel office shared, "We publicize AFT on our marquee, flyers on bulletin boards and we made wallet handouts with the website.” These marketing efforts, combined with AFT’s website and social media presence, have been instrumental in promoting the program’s diverse offerings.

AFT is 100 percent self-funded, with approximately 90 percent of its earnings supporting the military community. “We saved with AFT by utilizing the website for flight and hotel deals for our stay at Disney. We had a wonderful time and were stress-free knowing we saved. It was a phenomenal travel experience,” said Deandra, a satisfied customer. In 2025, AFT provided more than $5.5 million in value to quality of life MWR programs, including ticket and travel fairs, fun runs and other community events. The remaining funds supported program operations. Combined with $11.7 million in customer savings, AFT continues to deliver value to its patrons.

Direct feedback from patrons further highlights the program’s value. “We used AFT for our hotel and rental car on our trip to San Antonio for our son's graduation from Air Force Basic Military Training. Such a great trip, thank you AFT,” said Randy from Okinawa, Japan. Similarly, Myah from Palm Bay, Florida, said, “Thanks to American Forces Travel, we were able to book a flight at a moment’s notice and save more than $1,000 by bundling our car as well. We wouldn’t have been able to make it without this service.” These testimonials reflect the meaningful impact AFT has across the military community.

The savings provided through AFT can have an immediate impact. “I had a customer who made a car rental reservation with another vendor. She decided to try AFT and it saved her $200. She had to call and tell us the great news,” said an AFT employee. Stories like this demonstrate how AFT helps military families make the most of their travel budgets.

AFT's partnership with the Military Star Card is another key driver of success. Since relaunching in May 2025 for select hotel bookings, approximately 20 percent of all bookings are now made using the card. This partnership provides patrons with a trusted payment option while continuing to support programs that benefit service members and their families.

American Forces Travel (AFT), supported by Priceline, is the Department of War’s (DoW) official online leisure travel platform for active duty, Guard and Reserve, U.S. Coast Guard, retirees and all eligible Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) patrons. As the only official joint services MWR travel platform, AFT offers discounted flights, hotels and rental options through leading travel providers. A portion of every booking supports MWR programs, helping fund events and services that enhance quality of life for the military community. For more information, please visit AmericanForcesTravel.com.
